Burled Bigleaf maple created the ideal canvas for a faux marbled surface in Smoke &+ Stone. Three separate texturing techniques were used to establish clear separation from the stone-like appearance of the smooth walls. ‘Smoked’ on the interior via the use of individual matchsticks, the darkened interior draws the eye in like searching for the end of a well. A statement piece on its own, this vessel could readily be used as a dry bud vase or, with the purchase of a glass insert, a live floral vase. Do not place this piece directly in contact with water or other liquids.
