About…

Savannah

Savannah Stanton is a Pacific NW artist specializing in wood-based creations. Born & raised in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Savannah is the sole owner & creative behind Savannah Stanton, LLC.

Nine months out of the year she works as a Career Technical Educator for a local Oregon HS, and is referred to as Ms. Stanton, Coach, or simply Stanton.⁣⁣ When she isn’t covered in wood shavings, Savannah can be found suspended from an aerial apparatus, working on her poetry book, or traveling the world.

Always interested in learning & furthering her discipline, Savannah is currently pursuing a Master’s in Wood Science & Engineering from Oregon State University. Her research is directly related to her work as a wood artist, with a special emphasis on the science behind woodturning tools.

She currently resides in western Oregon with her feline friend Freyja overseeing daily business operations.

The Art

A fusion of science & artistic vision —

The pieces she designs reflect on the human experience or socio-environmental interactions. Her mission is to create thought-provoking installations that initiate conversation & inspire change. In her work, it is incredibly important prioritize the health & vitality of the forests and ecosystems that make her profession possible.

Savannah is dedicated to minimizing her environmental impacts, educating the public & her clients on diverse topics related to forestry & the wood products industry, & being an advocate for intersectional, climate-aware policies.

The majority of works created are comprised of locally available species to the PNW, with few exceptions. A fair amount of bigleaf maple (Acer macrophyllum), black walnut (Juglans nigra), Oregon white oak (Quercus garryana), among others. Residing in the Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) capital of the world, engineered wood products also show up in some bodies of work.
