Zone lines are fascinating byproducts of the decay process wrought by white rot wood decay fungi. Much like humans, they lay down zone lines like we build fences or erect border walls — out of fear, aggression, or a combination thereof relating to resource allocation.

Amid the constant turmoil, carnage, and devastating loss of life surrounding human borders in our present day (& throughout history), this piece is one that I felt obliged to create as my first completed piece of 2024. I hope it stimulates conversation for those who encouter it.
